City of Santa Clarita’s Visions in Progress Youth Advisory Committee

Visions in Progress (VIP) is the City of Santa Clarita’s Youth Advisory Committee. VIP contributes their ideas, opinions, and recommendations for solutions on City activities, projects, issues, and decisions relating to the teens of the City of Santa Clarita. Through VIP, youth have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, in addition to learning how our local City government operates. Activities include meeting with City officials and department staff, excursions to other cities, and internship opportunities.

Passionate people behind a movement that seeks to educate and inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. JA Worldwide annually reaches approximately 7.5 million students worldwide. Through age-appropriate curriculum, JA programs begin at the elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers, and consumers. JA programs continue through the middle grades and high school, focusing on the key content areas of entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy.

R.M. Pyles Boys Camp

R. M. Pyles Boys Camp is a youth leadership and character development program for selected economically disadvantaged boys.  The camp’s mission is to instill new attitudes and behavior, as well as to teach positive alternatives to youth that are at a tremendous disadvantage to compete in today’s world.  The focus is building self‑confidence, goal setting, decision-making ability, and learning that success comes only through significant personal effort.  Our ultimate goal is to help create productive and responsible citizens.
